‘The Warmth of Other Suns’ - by unbound bodies / Solid Real Productions
Blending dance, science fiction and visual world-building, The Warmth of Other Suns imagines the body and human existence on a cosmic scale. We witness a sensory universe of striking tableaux, light and sound – moving between the intimate and the infinite.
The Warmth of Other Suns follows three galactic wanderers as they move through atmosphere, gas, and bone. Thousands of years old and charged by photons from a dying sun, they grapple with their bodies in a state of constant transmutation. The urge to alchemize from dense matter to light rises from within and extends into greater cosmic bodies. Ancient yet tragically naïve, they bounce between events of surrender and defiance, from star to star, memory to moment—repeating, reducing, winding and unwinding.
Through the framework of science fiction, the performance imagines the coexistence of a species long after collapse and the eventual transference of sentient intelligence to stardust under The Warmth of Other Suns.
